The employees in the automobile sector of Tamil Nadu are forced to work under a lot of pressure to accomplish tasks, alter working hours, and intense production pressure. All these culminate into work-family conflict (WFC). The authors of this study examine the way Human Resource (HR) policies can be successful in reducing conflicts and employee well-being. A sample of 120 employees (selected through descriptive and correlational methods) of various departments was examined.
The research establishes that HR practices such as flexible working hours, leave days, and managerial support do not help much to minimize work-family conflict since individuals do not utilize them or are not well-informed about them. “The correlation analysis shows that there is weak positive correlation (r = 0.19) that means that effectiveness of a policy is a variable of the culture and accessibility of the organization.
