Peer Review Policy

 

Overview

Advances in Consumer Research is committed to maintaining the highest standards of scholarly publishing through a rigorous, fair, and transparent Double-Blind Peer Review process. All submitted manuscripts are evaluated based on their originality, scientific quality, methodological rigor, relevance, and contribution to the field.

 

The journal ensures that editorial decisions are made independently and objectively, without discrimination based on nationality, ethnicity, gender, institutional affiliation, or personal beliefs.

 

Double-Blind Peer Review

The journal follows a Double-Blind Peer Review model in which:

  • Authors remain anonymous to reviewers.
  • Reviewers remain anonymous to authors.
  • Editorial decisions are based solely on the academic merit of the manuscript.

 

All identifying information is removed from manuscripts before they are sent to reviewers.

 

Initial Editorial Screening

Upon submission, each manuscript undergoes an initial evaluation by the Editorial Office to determine:

Editorial Decisions

Based on reviewers' recommendations, the Editor may issue one of the following decisions:

 

Accept

The manuscript is accepted for publication without further revisions.

 

Minor Revisions

Small modifications are required before final acceptance.

 

Major Revisions

Substantial revisions are necessary before reconsideration.

 

Reject

The manuscript does not meet the journal's publication standards.

 

The Editor-in-Chief retains final authority regarding all publication decisions.

 

Revision Process

Authors receiving revision requests should:

  • Address all reviewer comments carefully.
  • Submit a revised manuscript.
  • Provide a detailed response explaining changes made.

 

Revised manuscripts may be returned to reviewers for further assessment when necessary.

 

Confidentiality

All manuscripts, reviewer reports, and editorial communications are treated as confidential.

 

Reviewers and editors must not:

  • Share manuscript content with third parties.
  • Use unpublished information for personal advantage.
  • Disclose identities involved in the review process.

 

Conflict of Interest

Editors and reviewers must disclose any actual or potential conflicts of interest.

 

Individuals with conflicts of interest will not participate in the review or editorial decision-making process.

 

Ethical Misconduct

Review Timeline

Appeals

Authors may appeal editorial decisions by submitting a written justification to the Editorial Office. Appeals will be reviewed by the Editor-in-Chief or an independent editorial representative. The decision reached after appeal review shall be final.
