Abstract

The study adopts a cross-sectional descriptive design and uses a semi structured, highly structured questionnaire to gather primary data from 417 active banking professionals of the top five private sector banks in National Capital Region (Delhi NCR), India. Independent Samples t-tests and One-way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) were used to analyze parametric comparative dynamics, with Tukey's Honestly Significant Difference (HSD) post-hoc test. The measurement model exhibited good psychometric properties in four areas: Work-Life Balance, Growth & Development, Communication, and Safety & Security. The comparative analysis showed that perceptions of employee engagement practices were not statistically different across various individual demographic factors, but significantly different across the various banking organization. The post hoc tests revealed that the main difference between these two specific banks was the cumulative favorability recorded namely by ICICI Bank and Axis Bank. The results offer important steps for banking leaders to take beyond generic HR policies and instead utilize bank-specific organizational interventions that will leverage existing communications and organizational structures within the workplace..
