Abstract

This systematic literature review (SLR) explores the dynamic relationship between Organisational Citizenship Behaviour (OCB) and Employee resilience in the context of higher education institutions (HEIs). As academic environments face growing pressures from globalization, technological advancement, and shifting funding structures, faculty and staff are increasingly called upon to exhibit resilience and go beyond formal role expectations. 30 empirical studies conducted in the subject area between 2010 and 2024 were selected for review. The findings suggest that there exists a reciprocal relationship between OCB and resilience in academia. The relationship is influenced by institutional pressures, organisational culture, and leadership. The review also provides suggestions for further research in higher education settings and implications for theory and practice
